Summary:
In the beginning of the chapter, it describes susanna's mother bad parenting, as well as her behavior. Susanne is exposed to much more situation by her unresponsible mother. Daphne, susanne's mother, allows susanne to order alcohol and get drunk. She also allowed susanne to take drug, such as sniffing cocaine. In this section, it shows that Daphne has a really bad influence towards her daughter, susanne. she encourages suzy to have more drugs, to get drunk, and also to have more sex with boys. She wants to get away from her mothers behavior, abuse, and lifestyle. So therefore, she applies to bording school to get away from all.

This quote expresses the feelings of susanna and her mother. It shows in how much pain they are with their life.This quotation describes how the mother was stating her daughter's pain. Daphne didn't want her daughter to know what agony was.
