Summary:
In the beginning of the chapter, sue is in college. She has finished her sophomore, junior, and senior year at the boarding her mom put her in for a better education. Now, sue is an adult. After her senior year in college, she moved out, and rented an apartment on her own. Susanna meets Christopher, her soon to be spouse, later in the book.
Quote:
“Be my guest at my unready apartment with its bed pushed beneath the eaves” (Sonnenberg, 204)
Reaction:
It is clear that the author wants the guest to come over her new apartment, but she is somewhat nervous. Regardless of the apartment, she still wants to receive the visit. She is straight forward with her thought. She doesn’t use any metaphors. She is ready, her apartment is a mess, but she doesn’t care. The author focus on what she wants to accomplish and that nothing else is relevant to her.
