Her Last Death (pg 207-273)

Summary:
In these couple last chapters, Susanne is now married with Christopher, without anybody, and a wedding. They didn’t need any witness or officials. They now live in Montana. Sue is pregnant for the first time. She never had the responsibility to take care of herself. But now, she must take care of a new life. Sue and Christopher decided to go through abortion. Later, Susanne became pregnant once again. But, this time abortion or adoption wasn’t an option for them. Sue gave birth to a baby boy, Daniel. Two to three years later, she gave birth to another baby boy, Jack.

Susanne has matured throughout this book. Through out the book, she had adopted her mother’s ways of doing things. At the end of the book, the story goes back to the beginning of the chapter where Sue receives a phone call that informs her that her mother is in the hospital. When she goes to see her mother, she speaks to her sister and tells her that she regrets pushing her family away and not putting them first in her childhood.

Quote:
"I grieved. Didn't want to be awake because I thought about it. The loss was unbearable, and I felt certain that every future thing i longed for would be lost" (Sonnenberg, 223).

Reaction:
This passage stood out the most to me while reading. It shows the authors approach and emotions. The author is worried, scared, and anxious. She is concern about what will happen to her and her future. She is also afraid to lose everything she has. She realizes her true feelings, despite the constant issues in her life.
